Given the recent damning report by the PPP Arbiter into Metronet's performance, what measures will you be taking to ensure that they improve their performance? In particular, will you be pressing them to introduce competitive tendering, which is very successfully used by Tubelines?

LU already uses the full range of contractual measures to encourage the Infracos to deliver their obligated works and performance levels under the PPP contracts. It has also put in place systems to measure and track the Infracos' performance and delivery.LU is also conducting a series of meetings with Metronet and its shareholders to impress on them the need to improve performance.Metronet have indicated that they intend to put certain future contracts out to competitive tender rather than using its own supply chain and LU is actively encouraging this. Metronet is also in the process of renegotiating existing track and station upgrade contracts.
