Answer for Bendy Buses

Peter Hendy (Commissioner, Transport for London)

No. Services are kept under regular review and the large and growing demand for buses in London means that high-capacity bendy buses will need to be considered where appropriate. It would be wrong for me to rule them out in a blanket fashion.

You will no doubt be aware that while some are against bendy buses, others have pressed hard for us to introduce them on some of the Thames Gateway transit services. I can however say that conventional buses will remain by far the biggest proportion of the fleet since bendy buses are appropriate for routes with the very highest flows.
