If a trade union wishes to come and see - providing I do not then offer something in addition and undermine management - I can explain our position. Just look at the facts. You can see that the deal that has been concluded is the deal I spelt out before the industrial action. Nothing has been added - not a single penny on the pay or a single minute off the week has been added as a result of the industrial action. I think it was the recognition that I was not prepared to overturn the management, nor was I prepared to actually vary the deal as a result of threats of strikes, that led to the end of this industrial campaign.
