Question

You mentioned a very sound opinion that the EU should not get involved in these sort of micro areas. Is it something you could get London House to lobby on?

The most obvious and dramatic example would have been compulsory tendering of all routes every five years on both the Underground and all the buses, which would have been a real problem. We managed to prevent that by amending the legislation. I suspect that a substantial proportion, if not the majority of the work of that office, is in trying to turn the Commission away from these mistakes and errors.
