Question

Across London there are many disused phone boxes. There seems to be confusion on who was responsible to remove them, as the company who owns in particular the bright orange boxes are still in business. Could the Mayor take the lead and set up some sort of co-ordinate response to dealing with these boxes that are ugly to look at and attract unsavory anti-social behaviour?

I do not have any specific powers in regard to telephone kiosks, their upkeep, or their working order. This is a matter between the local council and the respective telecommunications company. The provision of telephone boxes is regulated by OFCOM and any complaints into vandalism and general working order not actioned by those companies should be directed to OFCOM.
