Under the terms of the PPP contract, the engineering contractors are required to remove rubbish and graffiti. Failure to do so will incur financial penalties. However, graffiti is a major problem and London Underground Ltd are taking a partnership approach with all the interested parties, including the Home Office and local authorities. London Underground are working with their engineering partners and the British Transport Police to maintain the relatively good position of the stations and make a positive difference in a short time on train-painted graffiti. .
