We are currently in a position where we have 400 officers from the British Transport Police allocated to the Underground. We are proposing to increase that by 100 in this year through the TfL budget and it is my intention to propose a further increase of another 100 for next budget so that we get that constant upward movement in terms of the policing presence on the Underground and perhaps some more imaginative use of those police than we may have had in the past.
