Answer for Mayor's Broadcast Interviews

The press office records show that I have taken part in nearly 100 broadcast interviews so far this year. This includes interviews with the London broadcast media such as BBC London, News Direct and Capital FM as well as national media, including BBC Radio 4, BBC Newsnight and the GMTV Sunday programme. Obviously there are occasions when I do impromptu interviews with the media which are not necessarily recorded by the press office. Also included in this figure are the phone-in slots which I do each month with BBC London for 1 hour and LBC for 30 minutes. I've been doing these slots for the past 18months and find it's a chance for me to speak direct with members of the public and get their feedback on key issues. On average about 35-40 people put their questions to me live on air each month as well as many more via email. I have also recently started a morning slot with Capital Gold radio which allows me to reach a totally different audience. .
