The London Safety Camera Partnership was established on 1 April 2002. The Partnership includes two police forces, the Metropolitan Police and the City of London Police. Transport for London is the lead partner with the Association of London Government representing the boroughs. The other core partner is the Greater London Magistrates Courts Authority. The Partnership was set up to put together an operational case for inclusion on the DTLR's national Cost Recovery Scheme for Safety Cameras. The scheme allows revenue from cameras to be invested in their operation providing it can be demonstrated that the operation will reduce the number of serious injury casualties and people killed on London's roads. .
