TfL will not operate buses along roads that are not suitable. A number of route tests were conducted on route 272 before its introduction, in the presence of the operator, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the police. This was to ensure that buses could use Emlyn Road and Larden Road. The tests showed that these roads are entirely suitable for use by 8.8 m single deck buses. .
