The Mayor

I met recently with Dick Caborn, the Sports Minister. I emphasised to Dick the importance to London of reaching early decisions on both Wembley and Pickett's Lock, following the Government's decisions to get Patrick Carter to undertake reviews. The Minister in turn emphasised the need for rigorous assessments to be carried out, so that there was a clear understanding of the costs and benefits. I have said that we will assist in any way possible during these reviews, because of the importance of planning proceeding urgently for 2005. .
