Will the Mayor speak to the Chair of the Metropolitan Police Authority concerning the Cock Tavern Public House, Euston Road, scene of a recent pro-real IRA meeting and other potential source of public disorder and seek assurance from the Metropolitan Police that appropriate action will be taken to prevent this establishment being a constant source of nuisance to residents of Camden and London as a whole?

I have written to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir John Stevens, asking for a report on the activities of far right and extremist terrorist organisations in London. That report will cover the meetings held at the Cock Tavern and the ongoing National Front demonstrations outside the public house. When I receive that report, it will be discussed between myself, Sir John Stevens and the chair of the MPA, Toby Harris. Combating terrorism is a major priority for the Metropolitan Police Service, one which I whole-heartedly support.
