Question

Is the Mayor intending that TfL purchase/lease a large office building at More London Bridge for its staff? If so, given that such a building will be charges at City rental values, is this a good investment of public money and will he be able to justify it in Value for Money terms?

We are considering the prospect of TfL Headquarters staff moving to a building close to the prospective GLA HQ building at London Bridge.

This can only be on the basis of a coherent plan of organisational restructuring, major disposals from the inherited building portfolio, and careful evaluation of the costs and benefits. The possibility of a move is also dependent upon the support of DETR in terms of the required credit arrangements.

It is at a very early stage of consideration.
