Transport for London have been meeting with inner London boroughs to discuss potential measures to ameliorate any possible detrimental impact of congestion charging. The views of these boroughs are being taken into account in the design of the scheme. I have stated in my draft Transport Strategy that boroughs who wish to extend local parking controls will be supported financially and we will work with the boroughs through these meetings to understand their concerns about the scheme.

Transport for London will then be in a position to make decisions about distributing the part of the £100m for work to ameliorate the impact of the congestion charging scheme to the boroughs.
