Answer for 2005 World Athletics Championships

We are keeping a close eye on developments towards the World Athletics Championships. Nicky Gavron is a member of the Picketts Lock forum, chaired by Kate Hoey. Graham Hitchin* is also a member. Also, we are currently in discussion with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, Sport England and UK Athletics regarding the formal arrangements for hosting the Games here in London. I am very confident that the Championships will be a great success for Picketts Lock and for London in 2005.

Since this answer was drafted, there has of course been the rumour that perhaps Wembley may be rejigged to allow for athletics there, which would of course place a question mark over Picketts Lock. So the answer is, I haven't a clue. When the Government make up their mind, I'll be told.
