Liberty 2023

Liberty, the Mayor of London’s annual free festival celebrating groundbreaking work by Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists is part of This Is Croydon, London Borough of Culture 2023!

From Friday 1 September you can enjoy three jam-packed days across Fairfield halls and the surrounding areas. All events are free and all ages are welcome. Highlights include:

• Some of the UK’s best stand-up comedy talent take to the stage - Francesca Martinez, Aaron Simmonds, Steve Day and Variety D
• An inclusive fitness workout session with the trainers from Joe Wicks’ The Body Coach App, India Morse and Leroy Elevates
• Touretteshero returning to the festival to create a spaceship
• A family friendly free garden party with a host of performers, with refreshments from Dialogue Hub’s Mobile BSL Dialogue Cafe
• A finale event featuring: Candoco Dance Company; poet, Ellen Renton; Inner Vision Orchestra; and visual and performance artist, Rachel Gadsden

Expect an accessible and inclusive environment. All events will take a Relaxed approach to movement and noise with audiences able to leave and re-enter, tic and move around if needed. There will also be accessible toilets available and step-free access across the venue. There will be BSL Front of House Interpreters and individual events will feature a variety of access provision, from audio-described performances to Easy-Read information packs.
