Essential skills
There are a range of courses available across London which include essential skills.
Essential skills help ensure Londoners of all ages have access to the skills they need to access good work and further learning and participate in society. They include:
- English language (ESOL)
- Maths and numeracy
- English literacy
- Digital
- British Sign Language (BSL)
Eligibility for free courses
Many Londoners can access adult learning courses for free. You may be eligible for free skills training if you earn below the London Living Wage or are currently unemployed.
You can access learning for free for other reasons. We advise you to contact your local adult learning provider for further information, even if you do not fit the criteria above.
