Health Committee

Purpose of committee

The Health Committee is tasked with reviewing health and wellbeing across London, including reviewing progress against the Mayor’s Health Inequalities Strategies, and work to tackle public health issues such as obesity and alcohol misuse. The Committee will specifically consider the Mayor’s role as Chair of the new pan-London Health Board and the impact that the recent health reforms are having on the capital, notably the decision to devolve health responsibilities to local authorities and efforts to ensure a joined-up approach.

The Health Committee’s terms of reference are agreed by the London Assembly.
