Transport for London: Functional Body Question Time

Part A:

 

The Assembly will put questions to the Mayor, Boris Johnson, in his capacity as Chairman of Transport for London, and Peter Hendy, Commissioner, Transport for London, on the work and priorities of Transport for London.

 

Part B:

 

The Assembly will debate the following motion submitted in the name of the Chair:

 

“That the Assembly notes the answers to the questions asked.”

Minutes:

4.1  The Assembly put questions to Boris Johnson, in his capacity as Chairman, Transport for London (TfL), and Peter Hendy, Commissioner, Transport for London, on the work and priorities of Transport for London.

 

4.2  The record of the questions put by Members and the answers given is attached as Appendix 1.

 

4.3  The written answers to those questions not asked or answered at the meeting are attached at Appendix 2.

 

4.4  During the course of the discussion, TfL agreed to:

 

·  Provide a detailed analysis of correspondence received by Tfl from Assembly Members, including an analysis of that which related to common concerns and an analysis of that which related to new issues and to issues previously raised;

·  Provide details of the current ratio of managers to staff at TfL and the ratio in each year since 2008;

·  Examine whether it would be possible to extend the Cycle Superhighway to Redbridge;

·  Confirm whether TfL had looked into reports that Metroline had expressed concern that 25% of its vehicles inspected had a serious defect and were unfit for the road, and provide details of the confirmed percentage of vehicles which were unfit for the road;

·  Confirm the average interest rate TfL pays on its borrowing costs;

·  Investigate the complaints regarding accessibility of buses on a number of routes which were referred to during the meeting and arrange for the constituent referred to to visit the relevant bus garage to meet representatives of the operator;

·  Confirm when the last ‘bendy bus’ would leave service; and

·  Look into the possibility of extending the 63 bus route to Honor Oak Park.

 

4.5  At the end of the question and answer session, the Chair formally moved the motion set out on the agenda, namely:

 

“That the Assembly notes the answers to the questions asked.”

 

4.6  This was agreed by the general consensus of the Assembly.
