The Committee is recommended to delegate authority to the Chair to consult the Mayor on the proposed changes to Standing Orders and thereafter to send the amended Standing Orders to the Assembly for ratification and formal adoption by the Assembly.

12.1  The Committee received a report of the Executive Director of Secretariat, which proposed that the Authority’s Standing Orders relating to the presentation of petitions to the London Assembly (Standing Orders 3.20 and 3.21) be amended, as set out in the Appendix to the report.  The changes would mean that Assembly Members would be able to view the petitions but not to copy them.

12.2  Resolved:

That authority be delegated to the Chair to consult the Mayor on the proposed changes to Standing Orders (set out in the Appendix to the report) and thereafter to send the amended Standing Orders to the Assembly for ratification and formal adoption by the Assembly.
