6.2  The following guests attended the meeting:

 

·  Boris Johnson, Mayor of London and occupant of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC);

·  Stephen Greenhalgh, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime;

·  Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS); and

·  Craig Mackey, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service.

 

6.3  A copy of the transcript of the discussion is attached at Appendix 1.

 

6.4  During the discussion, the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime committed to provide the Committee with:

 

·  The facts that underpin MOPAC’s statement that “The increase in serious youth violence is attributed to a change in crime recording rather than an increase in the levels of violence.”; and

 

·  Further information regarding the drivers of confidence in policing in London, and in particular around the visibility and availability of officers.

 

 

6.5   The Police Commissioner also committed to provide the Committee with:

 

·  Details of the footfall for police stations and the new MPS contact points in order for the Committee to make comparisons regarding public visits;
