The London Borough of Bexley is in south-east London. It’s within the Thames Gateway, an area designated as a national priority for urban regeneration. The borough covers 23 square miles, stretching from the Thames in the north to Kent in the south.
Although much of the borough is developed, there are also more than 90 parks and woodland areas, making it one of the greenest boroughs in London.
Bexley was recently recognised as the second safest borough in London in terms of recorded crime. The borough has high levels of resident satisfaction and has been rated as 'excellent' by the Audit Commission, the local government watchdog. It is one of only 26 local authorities in England to receive this rating.
