Why not come on down to London’s iconic Trafalgar Square and join in with Yoga sessions led by the experts?
From 3pm – 8pm on Tuesday 20 June, visitors can choose a mat and be led through a series of different Yoga practices – learning as they go about the many benefits of this ancient practice which focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing. Unlike many other forms of exercise, yoga suits all ages and abilities and is both relaxing and invigorating, proven to boost physical and mental wellbeing.
There’ll be professional guidance organised into continuous ½ hour sessions, brief talks and celebrity appearances not to be missed. So if you’re a seasoned yoga practitioner or just curious, why not pop along?
In the meantime, here are four yoga facts to get you in the mood:
- The word ‘yoga’ means to join together from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit
- Just 12 minutes of yoga could help strengthen your bones
- Yoga can improve your balance and perfect your posture
- The largest yoga class at a single venue was with 35,000 people at the New Delhi Global Yoga Day on June 21st 2017
This event is organised by the Indian High Commission.
** Please note that due to the availability of the Square, this event is being held the day before actual International Yoga Day.
