In 2017, OPDC commissioned masterplanners to consider the delivery of the Mayor’s aspirations for Old Oak. The first output of this work was the delivery plan.
In 2018, masterplanning focused on Old Oak North, testing the deliverability and feasibility of the draft Local Plan in ‘unlocking' the area. OPDC's masterplanners, in consultation with key stakeholders such as the local boroughs, Transport for London and Network Rail explored the best way to deliver the Local Plan's vision for:
- town centre uses
- open spaces
- community facilities
Public consultation on the masterplan work was part of the consultation on the second revised draft Local Plan in June 2018.
Following public consultation, the masterplan and delivery plan forms the basis for OPDC’s bids to government for funding. It also used in conversations with stakeholders to make sure that development around Old Oak North is coordinated, complementary and that local communities benefit from development to the greatest extent possible.
