Report of the Executive Director of Secretariat Contact: Janette Roker, [email protected]; 020 7983 6562 The Committee is recommended to: (a) Note the report as background to the question and answer session with the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime and the Metropolitan Police Service and the subsequent discussion; (b) Note the monthly reports from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, as attached at Appendices 1 and 2; and (c) Delegate authority to the Chairman, in consultation with the Deputy Chairman and party Group Lead Members, to agree any output arising from the discussion. Minutes: 5.1 The Committee received the report of the Executive Director of Secretariat as background to the question and answer session with the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). 5.2 The Chairman welcomed the following guests to the meeting: · Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime; and · Sir Stephen House QPM, Deputy Commissioner, MPS. 5.3 A transcript of the discussion is attached at Appendix 1. 5.4 During the course of the discussion the Deputy Commissioner, MPS, undertook to: · Confirm the number of arrests that were made following the Palestinian protests in May 2021; · Provide further information on the police intervention at the protest outside the Science Museum in June 2021; · Provide further information on the pilot scheme in Lambeth and Southwark where women were joining police officers on patrol to share their concerns about safety; · Provide further information on the number of domestic violence protection orders; and · Provide further information on the 48 actions included in the implementation plan for domestic violence cases. 5.5 The Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime agreed to: · Arrange a briefing for Committee Members on how MOPAC evaluates the impact and value for money of the projects ... view the full minutes text for item 5. |

Police and Crime Committee Work Programme PDF 48 KB Report of the Executive Director of Secretariat Contact: Janette Roker, [email protected]; 020 7983 6562 The Committee is recommended to: (a) Note its work programme; and (b) Delegate authority to the Chairman, in consultation with the Deputy Chairman and party Group Lead Members, to agree a letter to the Home Affairs Select Committee in relation to their inquiry on violence against women and girls. Minutes: 6.1 The Committee received the report of the Executive Director of Secretariat. 6.2 Resolved: (a) That the work programme as set out in the report be noted. (b) That authority be delegated to the Chairman, in consultation with the Deputy Chairman and party Group Lead Members, to agree a letter to the Home Affairs Select Committee in relation to their inquiry on violence against women and girls. |
