Making the Mayor’s health inequalities strategy work for Londoners
The health and wellbeing of all Londoners is a top priority for the London Assembly.
But is the Mayor doing enough?
London continues to experience widespread health inequalities- avoidable differences in health and wellbeing outcomes between different groups within the population.
The Mayor is legally required to produce a strategy to tackle these health inequalities in London.
As part of its formal role, the Health Committee held two sessions with the Mayor’s health advisors and experts from the health and social care sectors. Assembly Members questioned how the Mayor could deliver on his vision for a healthier London and challenged him to set ambitious targets and show clear leadership on this vital issue.
