The Greater London Authority (GLA) is home to the Mayor and London Assembly. The Mayor is responsible for making London a better place for everyone who visits, lives and works in the capital. The London Assembly holds the Mayor to account on behalf of Londoners.
Following the appointment of a new Executive Director of Resources, there are two unique and exciting senior opportunities in the GLA’s finance function as:
· the Assistant Director of Group Finance and Performance to lead and manage the GLA Group’s £18 billion Budget and performance management arrangements; and
· the Assistant Director of Financial Services to lead and manage the provision of the GLA’s internal financial management to the highest professional standards.
These roles sit at the heart of the delivery of the Mayor’s priorities for Londoners and offer unparalleled access to the most senior decision-makers across London’s government. At the same time these positions are amongst the most challenging in local government finance with personal and professional rewards for success at this same exacting level.
You must be a fully qualified accountant and have extensive experience of public sector finance. Central to success for these roles will be your outstanding relationship management and people skills and experience of leading high profile finance functions.
