Tim Steer

Head of Transport

Biography

I have been Head of Transport at the GLA for the past five years. I lead a small team to support the Deputy Mayor for Transport and the Mayor’s Walking & Cycling Commissioner and provide an interface between City Hall and Transport for London (TfL).

I worked mainly in the transport sector prior to my current role, including on road safety at Bristol City Council, congestion charging policy at TfL and supporting scrutiny of national transport policy and delivery for the Transport Select Committee. I also spent five years working for the London Assembly in its role of holding the Mayor to account. I supported the work of a number of its committees covering areas including transport, policing, the environment and health.
