Summary of request
I am writing you with a Freedom of Information request regarding Greater London Authority funding for Affordable Housing.
The local planning authority for the London borough of Hillingdon granted Outline Planning Permission, Ref: 10189/APP/2004/1781 on 09/03/2006 for the development of the former RAF Eastcote site. The developer was Taylor Wimpey and the RSL is A2Dominion South.
The S106 agreement, associated with the outline consent required that a minimum of 35% of the entire development should be affordable housing, comprising of 25% rented units and 10% shared ownership.
The scheme proposed the provision of 134No. affordable units which equates to 35% of the entire scheme, of which 95No. (25%) will be rented and 39No. (10%) are shared ownership.
London Borough of Hillingdon has nomination rights to these homes and supported A2Dominion South in its bid for GLA funding to purchase the homes.
Under Freedom of Information:
- Can you please provide me information regarding how much GLA funding was provided to this scheme? Specifically, a breakdown of which buildings the money was spent on and how much?
- Can you please provide a summary elaborating, in layman’s terms, how the funding for this particular scheme works? For example, does this GLA funding originate from public money, through means such as taxation? Is this particular GLA funding to A2Dominon South a non repayable grant or, if a loan, what are the terms?
