King's College London Study: Air quality at Lambeth-Brixton Road

Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂)is a dangerous air pollutant which in London comes mostly from transport, buildings and construction. As one measure to reduce transport-related NO₂ concentrations, the Mayor of London has set up Low Emission Bus Zones, including from Brixton to Streatham. Buses running on this route must have top-of-the-range engines and exhaust systems that meet or exceed the highest Euro VI emissions standards.

This study by King's College London assesses variations in NO₂ levels at the Brixton Road air quality monitoring station following the introduction of the Brixton to Streatham Low Emission Zone.
