Get into the Rhythm of London this summer!

Rhythm of LondonMayor Boris Johnson has recently unveiled plans for a two-day celebration of music making – “The rhythm of London!”

Lots of events will take place from performances in schools to “street pianos”. It will give everyone an opportunity to try new things and unlock new talent.

On 10 July the focus will be on music education and performance in London schools. All types of music are welcome, and every person is encouraged to have a go! If you want your school to participate, point them towards the online registration details.

On July 11 many free local events at lots of different locations in London will take place. This includes:

  • London’s “street piano” project.
  • Live music performed by local musicians in Barnet, Golders green, Hampstead, Redbridge and Tower Hamlet.
  • Buskers will get the chance to perform on the London underground
  • Canary Wharf will host a variety of stringed instruments to watch and enjoy
