Struggling with mental health issues?

A new website has been launched to support young people who are dealing with mental health issues.

One in ten young people suffer from a serious mental health problem, but research suggests they don’t always get the help they need. A survey by the charity Youngminds has shown that three-quarters of young people are not offered support while they wait for treatment, and they can be on waiting lists for over 13 weeks.

Young people also reported that the descriptions of their illness and treatment are often confusing, leaving them unsure about what to do if they are unhappy about the medication or counselling provided.

This is why a new website, My Head Hurts, has been set up to help tackle these problems. It provides information on different types of mental illness, treatments and advice on how to complain. You can also read stories from other young people in similar situations.
