‘Construction Crew’ – New Recruits

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has started its second year of the successful ‘Construction Crew’ programme, which gives local schoolchildren the chance to be a part of the London 2012 project.

The Construction Crew come from schools across the Host Boroughs – Hackney, Newham, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich – who are individually nominated to become members.

The education programme is bigger this year with 40 students from 20 local primary schools taking part. The students will see progress being made at the Olympic Park over the coming year and take part in workshops to promote leadership, responsibility and presentation skills. They are encouraged to take their new skills and knowledge back to their schools and present this information to their peers.

The Crew recently completed a two-day introductory workshop which included a trip around the Park, plus a look at the project’s first theme - the site’s history and archaeology.

For more information please visit the history of the Olympic park page.
