Rubbish and recycling
London produces enough rubbish to fill Canary Wharf Tower every 10 days. At the moment, most of that rubbish is buried in the ground in landfill sites or burned in incinerators. However, space is running out in the landfill sites and there are a number of environmental issues involved in burning the waste.
