Interview with Patrick, an urban planner
The Architecture Crew interviewed Patrick, an urban planner who works for Planning Aid for London, about the London Plan.
- So Patrick, what exactly is the London Plan?
- What will happen to East London and all the new buildings after the Olympics are over?
- Is the London Plan going to give us more green areas in London?
- By 2016, London’s population will grow by 700,000 – the equivalent of a city the size of Leeds. How will the London Plan deal with population growth?
- How will the London Plan be able to tackle global warming?
- What will the London Plan do to tackle terrorism?
- How many rats will there be in London in 2026?
- How will we relieve congestion with a growing population?
As you can see Patrick talked about a lot of interesting stuff! We would have liked to ask him even more about the London Plan and the future of London, but sadly we ran out of time.
Here’s what we would have asked:
- Will the transport system be able to cope with the growing population?
- Will today’s young people be able to afford buy a house?
- How will the London Plan protect habitats for wildlife?
- What kind of houses will we live in, in 20 years time?
- Will we still be able to afford to live in East London when the Olympics come?
