You can go mountain bike and cyclo-cross riding at Eastway Cycle Circuit or Hillingdon Circuit, or just get out on your bike with your family and friends for a fun ride. Visit Transport for London and www.bikeforall.net for more details. Cycle guidesThere are thousands of shortcuts and routes that only bikes can use in London, and finding them is easier than you think. Just get one of TfL's London Cycle Guides and map out where you want to go, whether it's to/from school or a friend's house. Order a map for your area. As from June 3 2005, Transport for London's journey planner will provide recommended cycle routes to and from wherever you want to go. Just type in the start and finish address, print off your map and away you go! Cycling to SchoolIf your school needs some bike racks or a new bike shelter, then your head teacher should contact your local borough's School Travel Advisor. Schools will be considered for funding from TfL for new racks or a shelter if they submit a School Travel Plan which outlines the need for cycle parking. |
