Get into the Rhythm of London this summer!
London Mayor Boris Johnson has revealed plans for a two-day celebration of music in July, as part of an ongoing programme to get more young people involved in music.
There will be loads of stuff happening across the capital during Rhythm of London, which takes place from 10-11 July.
From performances in schools to 'street pianos' in London squares, the aim is to inspire and more importantly get young people playing music, even if it is for the first time.
Boris Johnson said: “Rhythm of London will be a brilliant chance for young Londoners to have a go. We want to capitalise on their incredible enthusiasm for music and unlock the capital's hidden talent.'
The first day, Friday 10 July, will focus on music education and performance with schools across the capital taking part.
There will also be a range of other free local events on Saturday 11 July, including the finale to the City of London Festival and Sing London's 'Street Piano' project, which will see pianos in public squares and at city landmarks for all to use and enjoy.
