Mayor signs London Pledge for children in care
Mayor Boris Johnson has signed a pledge by London’s councils to children in their care.
The London Pledge for Children and Young People in Care sets out a series of promises agreed by all of London’s local councils to children who are in care or leaving care. These include making sure they have health checks, providing more study materials and helping them prepare for work.
Over 200 young people were consulted on the pledge, which aims to improve the health and education of children in care, giving them more of the opportunities enjoyed by other young people across London.
