Earn your travel back

The Mayor of London has kept his promise to give young people who have had their ZIP Oyster photocard taken away the chance to earn them back early by volunteering in their local community.

TfL will contact the young person’s parent or carer to tell them that their card has been withdrawn and how they can apply to the scheme.

After applying, the National Young Volunteers Service (V) will arrange for them to take part in environmental projects set by a few organisations. Young people taking part in this scheme will not only earn their travel back, they’ll also meet new people, gain skills and make a difference!

The Oyster cards will be returned within two weeks after completing one day of volunteering. You can only earn your travel back once however!
