Dramarama
Want to be a star? If you fancy being the next Keira Knightley or Orlando Bloom, the sooner you get onstage, the better. Be part of a
school production, join a local drama group, or contact a theatre or organisation that can provide help (see Live the dream, below).
You don’t have to be an actor to work in theatre. Musicians, dancers and singers also appear onstage. Behind the scenes there are lots of
different jobs that are just as exciting and important as acting:
- set design – creating a backdrop and setting for the play onstage
- costume design – sketching, making and fitting actors’ costumes
- lighting – controlling the lights onstage to set the mood and atmosphere for the play.
- sound – playing any music or making any sound effects the play needs (i.e. phone ringing, birds singing, horns honking).
Live the dream - links to organisations and theatres that can help you achieve your dream.
