Making a difference

If there's something you really care about, whether it's other people, the environment or animals, there are lots of ways for you to get involved and really make a difference. Most big charities have local branches where you can get involved.

Read on to find out how to make a difference to the world around you.

Helping people

As a young person it often feels that you're never given the chance to act on your ideas and make a difference. In fact, there are loads of organisations that really welcome younger people's interest and work. Here’s one example:

  • You can get involved with St Johns Ambulance learning about first aid and how to help people who are hurt. Find out more about their Badgers group
  • Christian Aid works and campaigns to make the world a safer, fairer place for everyone. Find out how you can get involved.

Helping animals

There are loads of ways you can help make sure animals are treated OK - whether it's learning more about pet care or assisting animals that have been injured or abandoned. Here are some ideas:

Helping the environment

You can help encourage wildlife in your local park or fight the greenhouse effect - do your bit in a variety of ways.
