Biography

Sakina Sheikh was elected as a London-wide member of the London Assembly in May 2021.

Sakina was elected to serve as a local Councillor in her home borough of Lewisham in 2018, where she represents Perry Vale ward. She has served on Lewisham Council’s planning committee for three years and the Strategic Planning for one year.

For the past six years Sakina has worked on the issue of climate change. She is interested in how we can create worker-led and community-led solutions to the climate crisis.

In her spare time, Sakina enjoys playing tennis and listening to live music.
