Our annual report sets out the work of the Assembly over the year to April 2012.

The report details how we've looked at the actions of the Mayor and his advisers, and the finances and performance of City Hall and London's transport, police, fire and regeneration agencies.

We have summarised our work under the following headings:

16 March, 2012 - 09:21

Our Transport Committee has written to the Mayor to welcome the good progress made overall on preparing the transport network to cope with the 2012 Games, and highlight a few areas that are still a concern.

The Committee wants the Mayor to set out details of what is being done to improve the performance of the Jubilee line – a key Games route - before the Olympics.  The Jubilee is the only Underground line to see an increase in delays caused by infrastructure failures during the latest published performance period.

12 March, 2012 - 12:53

The report, from our Economy, Culture and Sport Committee, finds that schools and leisure services need to improve the way they help disabled Londoners stay active and highlights the low level of physical activity among disabled Londoners.

Since 2006 - despite the efforts of successive mayors and improvements to facilities - the number of disabled Londoners achieving the recommended level of physical activity has only risen to around one in ten.

16 February, 2012 - 14:32

Sold Out?, is the result of a two-year-long campaign by the ECS Committee to get answers from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) about the ticketing process for the Games.

8 December, 2011 - 15:54

It recommends that the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) and the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA), work together to promote the four venues as a single destination open to the public for at least 80% of the time.

Recognising that the venues are likely to need continued public subsidy after the Games, the report stresses the importance of increasing visitor numbers to encourage local regeneration. It also suggests that the OPLC look at developing new attractions around the venues, such as shops, markets, museums and sports taster sessions, to broaden their appeal.

30 November, 2011 - 14:59

Following this meeting, the Committee wrote to the Mayor setting out several suggestions to ensure openness and transparency around the governance of the Parks.

16 September, 2011

Our Environment Committee has written to the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) about the particular areas it hopes to see covered in the OPLC’s forthcoming sustainability policy.

These areas include:

12 July, 2011 - 09:43

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), and its contractors, aim to recruit more than 100,000 people for jobs including catering, cleaning, waste, security, hospitality, tourism and leisure. They will be joined by up to 70,000 volunteers.

The main hurdles identified by the Committee include:

17 June, 2011 - 12:27

The Committee broadly welcomes and supports the aims of the Cultural Olympiad and our response to the Legacy Plan is intended to enhance and strengthen the strategic vision set out in it.

2 June, 2011 - 11:06

Our annual report sets out the work of the Assembly over the year to April 2011 in a number of key areas.

The report details how we've looked at the actions of the Mayor and his advisers, and the finances and performance of City Hall and London's transport, police, fire and regeneration agencies.

We've also summarised our work on the priorities Londoners identified in the Greater London Authority's Annual London Survey:
