An Electric Vehicle Delivery Plan for London
1 MAY 2009
The EV Delivery Plan sets out a comprehensive strategy to stimulate the market for electric vehicles in London.
The EV Delivery Plan is only one strand of the Mayor’s strategy to decarbonise transport and improve air quality in London. Other elements include reducing the need to travel and the distance travelled through better land-use/transport planning, encouraging the use of less energy intensive modes of travel -more walking, cycling and travel by public transport, and the use of cleaner fuels and vehicles. The Mayor’s Transport Strategy will set out the full policy framework.
Comments
Well In my view this is not only good for london but also good for the world, as it will help us to fight with global warming.
Electric vehicles release almost no air pollutants at the place where they are operated. In addition, it is generally easier to build pollution control systems into centralised power stations than retrofit enormous numbers of cars.
