Park Royal Planning Framework

18 FEBRUARY 2011

The Mayor has given his backing for the retention of Park Royal as one of London's key strategic reservoirs of industrial land.

On 25 January 2011, the Mayor adopted a planning framework for Park Royal, which now sits as supplementary planning guidance to the London Plan. This framework realises one of the Mayor's objectives of providing meaningful areas of London that will allow industrial and manufacturing sectors to continue to function and grow, as an integral part of our economy.

The Mayor’s Park Royal Opportunity Area Planning Framework (OAPF) also recognises the significant role that new mixed-forms of housing and employment can play in certain locations across Park Royal. This new development can help create vibrant neighbourhoods and also bolster existing communities.

The framework has been prepared in collaboration with Ealing, Brent, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea Councils and it is expected that these Councils will also endorse this framework in the coming weeks. Other key stakeholders have included TfL, Park Royal Partnerships and the LDA as well as involvement from local landowners, businesses and residents through public consultation.
