Biography
Pamela grew up in Edinburgh and studied Mediaeval History at St Andrews University.
On graduation Pamela joined British Petroleum and held a range of commercial posts in the UK and US, her final role being CEO of Duckhams Oils, a wholly owned subsidiary.
From 1999-2000 Pamela served as an elected member of Camden Council where she was Conservative Group Leader (1998 –2000), and fought Bristol West in the 2001 General Election.
Pamela served on the LGA Education Executive from 1997 to 2000 and has been both an FE and school governor in London.
Pamela has also chaired the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust (2001 – 2009), and served on the Board of UCL Partners. She chaired English Churches Housing Group (an RSL specialising in supported and sheltered housing) from 2003 to 2009 and served as a member of the Riverside Group Board from 2006 to 2009.
Pamela has extensive experience of working with vulnerable children and chairs the Council of Trustees of one of the largest children’s charities in the UK, Action for Children, (formerly NCH).
