The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) completed an operational review of the Local Policing Model introduced across London in 2013, which was published on 24 January 2015. In parallel, MOPAC assessed the impact of the new local policing arrangements on crime and confidence in London, and jointly with the MPS, undertook an evaluation of police contact points, which were established as a result of the Mayor’s Police and Crime Plan 2013-16.

The MPS lead for Territorial Policing, Assistant Commissioner Helen King QPM, outlined the results of their review and the changes that would be implemented in a letter to the Deputy Mayor for Policing & Crime, who then subsequently wrote to the Chair of the Police and Crime Committee providing MOPAC’s response.
