Consultation response to Census taking in 2021

Key information

Publication type: General

Publication date:

In September 2013, the Office for National Statistics launched a consultation seeking views on two options for census taking in 2021. This followed an extensive national programme of engagement with users of Census data. The census is a uniquely detailed and versatile dataset. As perhaps the most diverse and dynamic region of the UK, London has a clear need to understand its population and their characteristics. With this in mind, the GLA response to this consultation consisted of three parts

1) A Summary Response which articulated our views using case studies to support our arguments.
2) A response in the pro-forma offered by ONS at the point of consultation.
3) An Example list of uses of Census data in London.
