GLA appoints new Director of Finance and Performance.

Anne McMeel has been appointed Director of Finance and Performance at the Greater London Authority. She is currently the Strategic Director - Finance and Information at the London Borough of Sutton.
Anne will join the GLA, on 1 May 2001, where she will be responsible for the administration of the GLA budget, Internal Audit, Best Value, Equalities and the meeting of Business Plan commitments within budget.
Anne McMeel was previously Deputy Director of Finance at the London Borough of Enfield, and Assistant Director of Finance at the Inner London Education Authority. She started her career with the Greater London Council, where she worked in audit, accounts and housing finance.
She said: ' I am delighted to be joining the GLA at this exciting time in its history and look forward to helping both the Mayor and Assembly make a real difference to those who live and work in London.'
Anthony Mayer, chief executive of the GLA, said 'I am delighted that Anne McMeel is joining us. As one of the leading London Borough Directors of Finance, she adds further to the expertise we are assembling at the GLA.'
