Sustainability appraisal and statement

The Government Office for London requires that a sustainability appraisal of the London Plan is carried out by a team independent from the Spatial Development Strategy preparation process.

For the further alterations an integrated impact assessment methodology was used. This brought together the requirements for the London Plan to undergo a sustainability appraisal and strategic environmental assessment with a health impact assessment.

Forum for the Future were commissioned by the GLA to undertake this work as an iterative process during the development of the further alterations. This document was consulted on and amendments made. A screening exercise for an appropriate assessment under the requirements of the EU Habitats directive was also undertaken and is reported in this document.
